Bodmin Jail Experience

Bodmin Jail Attraction was named the winner of Visit England’s “Best Told Story” award in 2021 as well as the “Best Themed Entertainment & Attraction Project of the Year” at the 2021 National AV Awards.

The Bodmin Jail attraction is an award winning, immersive experience that takes visitors on a 90-minute tour through the eerie and sinister past of the prison, which was built during the reign of King George III in 1779 and shut down in 1927. The “Dark Walk” transports visitors to the past using theatrical and cinematic special effects as well as the newest in audio-visual technology, giving them a first-hand experience of prison life in the 18th and 19th centuries on the windswept moors.

Together with the clients Milano Developments/Sarner International, LT Projects specified, planned, and installed all AV and control system components, including the Audac WX302/B & WX502/B speakers used specifically for discrete point source reproduction of the immersive soundscapes created by Peter Key Sound design and specifically specified by LTP.

The WX speakers produce high-quality vocal intelligibility and a complete range of sound for the special effects throughout the entire Experience. All loudspeakers are powered by Audac SMA and SMQ series Class-D power amplifiers. The purchasing process was simple, the pricing for the quality provided exactly what was required for the budget, and the feedback from visitors to the experience as a result has been fantastic.
