The chambers are used by Bracknell Forest Council for internal meetings and are rented out for conventions and private functions. By including the Televic conference system, connectivity has been made easier for everyone using the venue, encouraging convenience and open conversation for participants.
A new video conferencing system was necessary for Bracknell Forest Council to transform one of its conventional chambers into a multipurpose area. The space, which can hold up to 40 people, needed an audio solution so that attendees could converse while seated. The solution required to be adaptable and scalable to accommodate several possible chamber configurations while yet being user-friendly.
The system and UI design have to properly take into account the additional requirement of enabling Bracknell Forest Council to record, upload, and stream to the medium of their choice. For Bracknell Town Council, ensuring that there would be no compromise of data or devices was a high priority.
The system’s integration into a Microsoft Teams Room platform was the last hurdle to overcome in order to enable seamless functioning outside of the norm. Maintaining a system that the users are accustomed to and that is simple to use while accommodating the added complexity of the setup was essential.
The size and flexibility of the room were especially taken into account when designing a Televic Confidea Flex conference system, with the chamber’s acoustics playing a significant role.
The primary speaker may switch between open and closed discussions with the push of a button and the participants can also signal to the Chairperson when they want to talk. This alerts the Chairperson via the Confidea Control Center. From the FLEX’s 5.2″ Full-Colour touchscreen, the Chairperson has full control over each microphone’s function.
Active speakers are tracked using the Televic T-Cam camera tracking package. The council now has the option to record its meetings and, if necessary, stream them on a platform of their choosing. The cameras offer a 15x optical zoom feature that lets you focus in-depth on specific speakers. The required video source is sent through an AVoIP system to four existing screens around the chamber and one additional display in the council lobby.
